AI Agent Wishlist

I don’t fancy myself an inventor, though I have been known to come up with a few wild “million dollar ideas” that' stayed just that – a fun story.

There is an unprecedented amount of hype around AI in terms of what it can do for us.

I err on the skeptical side.

If the fundamentals can’t be solved, can we ever rely on it to do more complicated things for us? If it gets it wrong 1 out of 10,000 times, is that enough to let it… Make a dentist appointment for you, but not automatically drive your car?

They say people, and now technology, rises to its potential. What is AI’s potential as an agent without predictability, certainty, consistency, or accuracy?

Let’s say that AI becomes a viable way to get simple tasks done with acceptable risk. Whats on your wish list? What would you do with a Rosie from the Jetsons?

Here’s my list of AI agent ideas that could actually make my life or someone else’s life better:

Medical

• Refill prescriptions 

• Check contraindications for all new meds automatically

• Book appointments 

Financial

• Negotiate parking or speeding tickets

• Analyze utility bills to tell you in real time when you are using more energy during higher priced time of use.

• Track interest rates for HYSAs and recommend when it’s worth it to switch and when its not, based on difficulty of switching, requirements, size of bonus, and increase in APY. Then do it for me.

Personal

• Maximize vacation days by overlapping company holidays with weekends + floating days, in order to maximize batches of days off. 

• Look for hard to find replacement parts across ebay, craigslist, and replacements. all at once.

• Explain flat pack furniture instructions like a human

• “Revive” a deceased loved one by uploading videos of them to create a character that you can interact with.

Home

• Upload room measurements and get recommendations for products that fits the whole room perfectly, aligned to feng shui and a mood board.

• Design permaculture elements for your property by looking at the coordinates, climate and available environmental data to overlay recommendations onto an aerial map of your property.

Education

• Guidance counselors can recommend colleges or trade programs based on interests, strengths, criteria, grades, location, degree programs, and career aspirations; so students can get better ideas of what to do after college.

AI and distribution: Do you have logs?

Have you ever seen this skit?

Imagine the distribution issues that could be sorted by connecting disparate shipping routes from private carriers and creating new routes that cut mileage, fuel use, emissions, and get products to places faster, and drivers home at night.

Much like airlines operate through 3rd party operators when they need help with new routes to remote areas, agreements could be made that could save everyone money including the end consumer.
